NUEVA COLECCIÓN ESPECIAL DE ANILLOS
Con motivo del 20 aniversario de la línea de joyas By Kim, Wempe lanza una cuidada colección de 20 anillos únicos, con 20 gemas de colores inusuales, que siguen la tradición de la alta joyería y que recuerdan los colores del océano. Para crearlos, el equipo de Wempe y Catherine Plouchard, la directora creativa de la marca, reunieron todos los recursos disponibles para el arte joyero: los materiales más exquisitos, las técnicas de orfebrería más sobresalientes, y por supuesto la creatividad. «Cuando un niño cumple 20 años, está de pie sobre sus dos pies», explica Catherine Plouchard, aludiendo a la madurez. Y por esa razón la diseñadora ha creado algo especialmente ambicioso para honrar y celebrar el vigésimo cumpleaños de la línea de joyas By Kim. Plouchard seleccionó kunzita y espinela para los matices rosa y violeta, tanzanita y zafiro de la familia de piedras azules, aguamarina y paraiba turmalina para un toque de turquesa y turmalina, berilo verde, peridoto, indigolita y esmeralda para matices sutiles de verde. Las bandas del anillo, que son siempre las mismas, forman una X a la derecha y a la izquierda de la piedra preciosa de color. En conjunto, las dos X forman el número romano 20, un toque caligráfico de la directora creativa. La doble banda de oro blanco hace que los anillos sean especialmente cómodos de llevar.

A NEW SPECIAL COLLECTION OF RINGS
To mark the 20th anniversary of the ‘By Kim’ jewellery line, Wempe has launched an exquisite collection of 20 unique rings with 20 rare coloured gemstones, which follows the high jewellery tradition and recalls the colours of the ocean. To create them, all resources available to the jeweller’s art were pooled: the most exquisite materials, outstanding goldsmithing techniques, and naturally unique creativity. “When a boy reaches 20 years old, he is standing on his own two feet,” explains Catherine Plouchard, in reference to maturity. The designer took this inspiration to create something especially ambitious to honour and celebrate the twentieth birthday of the ‘By Kim’ jewellery line. Plouchard selected kunzite and spinel for the shades of pink and violet, tanzanite and sapphire from the family of blue stones, beryl and paraiba tourmaline for a touch of turquoise and tourmaline, beryl green, peridot, indigolite and emerald for subtle shades of green. On the band of each ring, the diamonds form an ‘X’ to the right and the left of the centre stone. As a whole, the two Xs represent the Roman numeral for 20 – a calligraphic touch by the Creative Director. The double band in white gold makes the rings particularly comfortable to wear.
