La residencia privada del arquitecto De Beir, totalmente reinventada observando el estilo de la villa anteriormente existente, se encuentra en Knokke, la última ciudad en la costa belga antes de cruzar la frontera holandesa. Desde la entrada principal primero se accede al jardín, y luego por un sendero sinuoso llegamos a una cocina, directamente conectada con una hermosa terraza rodeada de vegetación, que evoca la atmósfera del mar y la playa cercanos. A pesar del techo de paja y su aspecto aparentemente tradicional la casa sorprende por la modernidad de sus interiores, y la sensación de amplitud de sus habitaciones nace de la elección de grandes ventanales y un hábil uso de materiales hechos a mano en Italia, Alemania y la República Checa.
Las paredes y los suelos blancos otorgan un brillo intenso a las habitaciones, creando una sensación particularmente relajante. Calidez y sofisticación emanan los materiales elegidos para las salas elegidas, como el alerce ahumado, paneles de hierro marrón oscuro, o la aplicación de piedra dolomita de Grè, el vidrio soplado utilizado en los muebles y accesorios hechos a medida, y la elección de los grifos de CEA. The private residence of the architect De Beir, entirely reimagined while observing the style of the previously existing villa, is located in Knokke, the last town on the Belgian coast prior to crossing the Dutch border. From the main entrance, you will first gain access to the garden, then, via a winding path, you will enter a kitchen directly connected to a beautiful terrace surrounded by greenery, which summons up the atmosphere of the nearby sea and beach. Despite the thatched roof and its seemingly traditional appearance, the house is surprising for the modernity of its interiors and the spaciousness of its rooms, generated by the choice of large windows and a skilful use of materials handcrafted in Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic.
The white walls and floors deliver an intense brightness to the rooms, creating a particularly relaxing sensation. Warmth and sophistication emanate from the features of the rooms picked out in smoked larch, from the dark brown iron panels, to the application of dolomite stone from Grè, the blown glass used in the bespoke furniture and accessories and the choice of CEA’s taps. Extreme refinement, sophistication, and linearity are combined in this exclusive residence, just a short stroll from the North Sea.
