Ubicado a poca distancia de la sede de Porsche Cars Norteamérica, este trazado exige una puesta punto afinada y una potencia elevada para afrontar con éxito sus largas rectas, sus curvas enlazadas y sus marcadas pendientes.

A Taycan Turbo S production car has set an incredible lap time of 1:33.88 minutes on the demanding American circuit.
No matter the body style or powertrain, all Porsche models reflect the same passion for performance, and one of the best ways to show this is to demonstrate it on demanding race tracks. This time, it’s an electric sports car in their Turbo S version which managed to do a lap round the iconic 2.54-mile (4.08 km) Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta circuit in 1:33.88 minutes. Located just a short distance from the headquarters of Porsche Cars North America, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta’s technical esses, long straights and elevation changes demand excellent feedback, stability and power from any car.
“Esta pista es implacable, debes tener plena confianza en el coche”, asegura el piloto profesional Leh Keen, quien no pudo evitar mostrar su sorpresa tras los primeros minutos al volante. La combinación de la dirección del eje trasero, el sistema Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport opcional y el control de estabilidad Sport Plus, permitió a Keen negociar los virajes con una eficacia mucho mayor de lo que creía posible. “El paso por curva es impresionante. Los apoyos son precisos y la dirección ofrece una respuesta inmediata y comunicativa. El empuje te pega la cabeza al respaldo del asiento y el sistema de frenos es realmente eficaz”, comenta el piloto. “Los motores eléctricos responden rápidamente y esa generosa potencia, combinada con los diferenciales activos, hace que el Taycan establezca nuevos referentes en términos de dinámica”.
“This track is unforgiving, meaning you have to trust the car completely,” said professional race car driver Leh Keen, who couldn’t help showing his surprise after the first few minutes behind the wheel. The combination of Rear Axle Steering, optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport and the well-programmed Sport Plus stability control, enabled Keen to push the electric sports car harder than he thought was possible. “The performance through the turns was surprising. Turn-in, in particular, was crisp and consistent, and the steering response was immediate and communicative. The power pins your head back coming out of any corner, and the brakes have excellent feedback,” he added. “The electric motors respond so quickly, the power is right there when I need it, and combined with the active differentials, makes the Taycan a game changer when it comes to handling.”
